I have always been fascinated with history and time travel stories, like Somewhere in Time and Time after Time. It is no wonder then, that I decided to settle down in a place like Georgetown, where ghosts of a bygone era whisper stories in the wooden facades of nineteenth century buildings and the train whistle rises just above town at the Devil’s Gate.
I began to learn and tell the stories of Georgetown working as a tour guide, curator and overseeing collections for Historic Georgetown Inc. and have never tired in the telling and hearing of them. The stories change with new bits of information and new insights of understanding. I do not profess to be a scholar, however I am a good listener and I like to think of myself as a decent story teller. So, if you are looking for a little more than just a stroll through town, admiring the old buildings, reading the plaques in front of some of the old buildings, Silver Queen Walking Tours offers to take your visit of Georgetown to the next level.
